Smoke-Free NYCHA created healthier homes for residents and healthier working environments for employees by reducing exposure to secondhand smoke and providing support to residents and employees who smoke and want to quit.
NYC Treats Tobacco (NYCTT) partners with medical and behavioral healthcare organizations throughout NYC's five boroughs to provide free services aimed at enhancing an organization's delivery of tobacco use dependence treatment for all patients. NYCTT works with organizations to create tobacco dependence treatment policies that ensure all patients are screened for tobacco use and those who smoke are offered evidence-based treatment. Along with policy support, NYCTT provides additional quality improvement support such as provider trainings, free patient education materials, and NRT (while supplies last).

PHS works to protect the health of New Yorkers by utilizing outreach, education, advocacy, partnership, and communication by actively enaging community members and key stakeholders (local community boards, community-based organizations, and influential decision-makers) to support the prevention and reduction of tobacco use. PHS aims for tobacco-free norms where people live, work and play by helping NYC based businesses and buildings pass voluntary smoke-free policies and engage with their Reality Check youth to become tobacco-free advocates.
SOCB is a health initiative that helps patients navigate all aspects of cancer care, from screening to treatment. SOCB is a multipronged community-engaged initiative that aims to reduce the overall burden of cancer and alleviate cancer-related disparities in Brooklyn. The initiative engages local communities to disseminate innovative, evidence-based solutions for cancer prevention, early detection, care, and survivorship.
